ABOUT US

626 Water Polo is a Glendora-based water polo club for young athletes ranging from late elementary to high school. The club offers spring and summer sessions, each consisting of comprehensive training regimen including water polo drills, swim conditioning, strength training, and dry land workouts. We welcome athletes of all skill and knowledge levels, as many players begin their water polo careers with us - discovering their love for the sport that will follow them through their high school years and beyond. Practices are held at Glendora High School Pool, 1600 E Foothill Blvd. Glendora, CA 91741

WHAT DOES MY CHILD NEED TO BRING?

- Proper swim attire: preferably a speedo (swim brief) or jammers

- Towel

- Water/Sports Drink

- Goggles

DOES HE/SHE NEED TO HAVE PRIOR EXPERIENCE IN COMEPETITIVE SWIM/WATER POLO?

Absolutely not! While most of our athletes have done club/city swim at some point, it is not a requirement. We do require kids to know how to swim and prefer that they be comfortable, strong swimmers in order to get the most enjoyment out of the program. All other necessary water polo skills will be taught at a beginner level including: treading (eggbeater), ball handling, passing, shooting, and the rules of the game. During the spring/summer months, we are able to offer additional dryland strength/agility training. We pride ourselves on equipping young athletes with all the skills needed for high school water polo.

WHAT SEASONS ARE THE CLUB ACTIVE?

For the first time ever, we are proud to be able to offer training and practice year-round. Our times will vary slightly in the summer months due to pool availability etc. During the late spring and summer, we are able to participate in tournaments with other clubs in the San Gabriel/San Bernardino/Orange County areas. Our ultimate goal is to be able to send our kids to the USA Junior Olympics competition at the end of summer.
